Recent Volvo IPS Inspection, Service & Repairs – August 2026

Following a pre-listing inspection and sea trial, a certified Volvo shop completed extensive service and corrective work on both Volvo IPS drives:

• Both pods were removed for inspection and corrosion remediation. The upper gear housings and intermediate housings were cleaned, prepared and refinished, then reassembled with new seals and O-rings.

• Both drives passed pressure testing before being reinstalled, aligned and run-checked.

• IPS drive oil and filters were changed, drive anodes were replaced and fluid levels were verified after operation.

• New starboard IPS oil hoses and cooler fittings were installed.

• All four IPS raw-water inlet and outlet valves were removed, cleaned, lubricated and reassembled with new seals. The leaking port raw-water return hose was also replaced.

• A subsequent minor starboard IPS oil leak was corrected with a new cover, fitting and O-ring. The engine was run and the pod-oil level was verified.

• Both engine-mount areas were cleaned and treated with corrosion protection.

The related sea trial also identified water entering through openings near the transom; those areas were professionally repaired and sealed. In total, nearly $28,000 of documented mechanical, haul-out and related corrective work was completed during July and August 2026. Service records are available for review.
