In 1962 Roy Merritt’s grandfather, Franklin Leroy Merritt built DANDY himself next to
the Merritt boatyard. She was not built under the Merritt label.
Merritt is respected as one of the most historically significant
Florida custom sport fishing boat builders.
- She is a one of a kind classic wooden lapstrake beauty that was covered in fiberglass since her down to the frame restoration in 2001.
- In 2001 the gas engine was removed and a 2000 Yanmar Diesel 4LHA-STE 230 hp. was installed, currently showing 96 hours.
- Four custom windows forward, teak decks, varnished transom, custom toe rail, finished to perfection.
- A cabin forward has room to store everything you need for day cruising.
- Her custom Myco tandem axle trailer enables you to enjoy this classic anywhere you desire. Easily towed with almost any vehicle.
Over 200k was spent on her restoration in 2001
and this current refit has made her better than new.
The restoration was fully documented with photos assembled
into a binder for your reference.
DANDY is the epitome of the “PALM BEACH DAY CRUISER’’
There is nothing like her
and will remain a testament to the art of boat building.
Come and see her anytime….call Scott Weiland.
